Thornbury 10k- 2023 Race Series Race #2
Rolling Country Lanes
Thursday 29th June at 19:30
The Thornbury 10k takes place on the rolling country lanes around Oldbury with wonderful views and finishes at the Anchor pub! The road course and the event caters for those who like a relaxed summer evening run and those who are more competitively minded.
We had a new course in 2022 and have made improvements to this for 2023. We will start closer to the Sailing Club HQ, which means a shorter walk to the start and the short out & back section has been removed. We are also running the course in the reverse direction which means the steep hill will no longer be at the start (although the more gentle slope is now at the end) and you are able to keep right around the course more easily.
We will recognise your efforts with a wooden medal. If you take part in all 3 TRC Race Series 2023 events (Riverbank Rollick, Thornbury 10km and the Oldbury 10 mile) the medals will create a larger impressive medal. Look out for photos coming soon on Facebook.
Race Series
We want to encourage runners to enter the whole series by offering a £10 discount for entering all three events (Riverbank Rollick 15th January, Thornbury 10k 29th June and Oldbury 10m 17th September) and by offering a prize for both the woman and man who achieve the cumulative fastest absolute time across the three events. You do need to enter the race series at the time of first entry please. You cannot enter the Riverbank Rollick and then later select series entry and receive the discount.
